How do you install dreadlocks?
We use an all-natural locking method that shapes your hair into a dread. We leave the rest up to nature, your patience and our maintenance.
How often should I shampoo?
We recommend once a week, with a range of 3 to 10 days; this will help to maintain a healthy scalp. Tonic shampoo from Bumble and bumble and Knotty Boy shampoo are our favorites. The most important step is to make sure your dreads are dried thoroughly after each shampoo.
How often should I wax?
24 hours after a shampoo when your hair is completely dry. The best way to wax is to warm up a chunk in your palm and then lightly wind your hand around the dread from the scalp down. Use less wax if your hair is lighter in texture. Waxing your dreads is not necessary, but can help them mature faster.
What do I do if the ends start coming out?
This is normal, especially if your hair is thick or straight. Like all good things, your dreads will take time to form. Just keep twisting the ends in with the rest of your dread. We can work on this during maintenance as well.
How often will I have to have them maintained?
Natural dreads will form faster for curlier hair. The shorter or straighter your hair, the more attention it will need. We recommend maintenance appointments anywhere between 6 weeks and 3 months, depending on your hair texture and dread development.
What can I do to maintain my dreads?
Wash and wax or gel on a regular basis. As your hair grows, separate each dread at the scalp, this is best done before shampooing. Twist from the scalp to the ends, especially when waxing.
Can I color my dreads?
Yes! It will take longer than a regular color application because of the hair density, but they can be whatever color you want. If chemicals aren't right for you, we offer extension hair in a rainbow of colors as an alternative.
My dreads aren't long enough!
We offer extension services specific to dreads. Here at the G Spot we love to defy nature! Using human or synthetic hair we can extend your dreads to any length.

Your appointments are very important to G spot hair design, it is reserved especially for you, we understand that sometimes schedule adjustments are necessary; therefore, we respectfully request at least 48 hours notice for cancellations.
STRICT AND ENFORCED 48 HOUR CANCELLATION POLICY!
Please understand that when you forget or cancel your appointment without giving enough notice, we miss the opportunity to fill that appointment time, and clients on our waiting list miss the opportunity to receive services. Our appointments reminders are set for you to confirm 48 hours in advance because we know how easy it is to forget an appointment you booked months ago. Since the services are reserved for you personally, a Cancellation fee will apply. We will be asking for a credit card to have on file for our lengthy service (dreads, extensions, & colors)
- Less than 48 hour notice will result in a charge equal to 50% of the reserved service amount.
- “NO SHOWS” will be charged 100% of the reserved service amount.
- Appointments made within the 24 hour period and need to cancel, the client then must cancel within 4 hours of appointment time or will result in a charge equal to 50% of the reserved service amount.
- Multiple services not cancelled 48 hours in advance will be charged 100% of the reserved service amount. 50% of your multiple services may be charged to your credit card to reserve the appointment time.
The cancellation policy allows us the time to inform our standby guests of any availability, as well as keeping our scheduled filled, thus better serving everyone. As a courtesy, we will EMAIL and text you to confirm your service appointments prior to your appointment date. Please understand that it is your responsibility to remember your appointment dates and times to avoid late arrivals, missed appointments, and the cancellation fee. Please use the system to confirm you’ll be at your appointment time, any late arrivals not confirmed may be cancelled after their start time.
CLIENTS RECEIVE DISCOUNTS WHEN SALON CANCELS
Beauty Is Hair Salon stands by our policies, we feel that it is only fair that we honor the same policies to our clients, if in any reason the salon has to cancel on a client less than 24 hours of the appointment scheduled; we will honor 50% off on your next service. But, if the cancellation is due to situations that are out of our hands such as power outage, unfortunate incidence, etc… that requires the salon to be closed during regular business hours, we would gladly reschedule your appointment. The 50% discount will not apply.
